Wellll... it could be that the War Doctor got more than his share of outfits burnt, ripped or otherwise damaged during the Time War, and by the end of it all he only had the Eighth Doctor's and Sixth Doctor's outfits left in his wardrobe, and he thought the former would be a more dignified outfit to meet his end in...
Oh, who the hell am I kidding? Any theory I come up with is just going to get blown out of the water a week tomorrow anyway. But hey, canon or not, always a great drawing!
9 I miss you so much ;.; don't get me wrong I like 10 so far too. I need to begin from the classic but I didn't know until I checked netflix but now I wanna finish the other seasons of the one I've been watching X3
Yeah, that was also the date that 'Rose' first aired in the UK! Ahhh, memories. As a Doctor Who fan you should be thrilled that you share your birthday with such a momentous occaision in Doctor Who history.
I'm guessing that 8 got out of Gallifrey barely alive and it exploded behind as his TARDIS escaped, which damaged the TARDIS. He regenerated due to the Time War, and his TARDIS regenerated too into it's 2005 form.
This is amazing and I think really highlights the transition. I mean, you have Eight, with all the hyperactive adorableness, fancy clothes and tendency to snog random companions just for the hell of. And then after the Time War you get Nine, and while he's not as cold and brooding as the fandom likes to portray him, he's still a lot darker - dresses in practical civilian clothes and at first claims he doesn't really need anyone, and for me the transition is just heartbreaking. I can just imagine him after his regeneration, feeling all uncomfortable in these fancy clothes and looking for something that fits him better....
Okay, I'll shut up now. But this is really awesome and I think I might go write fic about it. Props to you. (Although his hands look a little awkward and his ears look a little too big...)
This is a great one! I've got to say, Eccleston is probably my favorite Doctor. Usually TV production companies have clauses in their leading actor's contract that specifies a two series commitment if it's a hit, which New Who was. Someone at the Beeb should have gotten fired over his quick departure.
...To the best of my knowledge, it was only a one-year contract (and after all, given the Doctor's nature, it wasn't like they couldn't get away with hiring a new actor anyway, or didn't know that they could).
i wish they could have added this seen to the reboot of the series starting with 8ths regeneration into 9- then go into a (insert years later here) when coming to introduce rose right b4 we see the doctor again XP
